RainyCloud teaches the differences between a PvM sorceress and a PvP sorceress, and tells us how best to build duel specific variants of each class. However RainyCloud's guide has errors with regards to Energy Shield and EHP, specifically the sentence that says "with my lv16 energy shield and 800 hp, I could take over 2000 damage before dying." This is not possible unless he has over 2502 mana, having a EHP of 2059. This is probably because the guide was written before the double mana absorption of Energy Shield was discovered.

A guide to playing one of the variants of the Necromancer, one that uses no minions and only curses and bone spells. A similar guide called the Reviveless Necromancer is also great although it doesn't focus on hardcore play.

Lord Rahn recommends using the Paladin as your first HC character and gives some advice on using Might with this character. Bear in mind that this character is designed to be a first character in HC "scout" and is able to survive with only magical items and with minimal effort into the 30s.
