Monkey Business

I love Sock Monkeys! I did a project on them during my business course and now have decided to dedicate this little page to them, first a poem I created:

The first sock monkey was born in 1920,

during the U.S depression,

where happiness was the least of most reactions.

 

Beloved by many, aged one to eighty,

given names ranging from Tom to Katey.

 

Cheered many up when times were bad,

made so many sad faces glad!

 

A toy that lasted throughout the years,

that kept you company through many fears...

 

It'll put a smile across your face,

take the worries away leaving no trace...

 

Always by your side when you are elated,

so overjoyed you need to be sedated.

 

These monkeys are here to stay,

in good or bad times any day!

Now here's the fun part~ I'll be creating virtual sock monkeys and you'll be able to adopt these silly looking creatures!

This little feller was my first sock monkey. Well, at least he's a virtual version of him...He's made with mismatched socks and his a little embroidered banana on him. You also can find a picture of the real version of him on Shawnee's website.

Hates: being left alone, the darkness and flies.

Created with baby blue baby's socks~ she has light pink stripes on her, long lovely lashes and a little heart to top it all off, what a sweetie!

Name: Little BooBoo

Gender: Female

Birthday: 25th October2003

Status: Adoptable(4) Reserved(1)

Likes: Ice cream, the Sun and baby chicks

Hates: rotten bananas, roaches and ants

Gary was created with a grey and black woolen baby sock. With a cute little strand of hair on that little head of his, he's ready for a big cuddle!

Birthday: 27th October 2003

Status: Reserved(1)

Likes: Playing with kittens, candy and baths

Hates: dirt, coffee cos it makes him hyper and animal abuse

Made with new, crisp white socks, she comes with her own set of jewelry, a cute tiara, earrings and a necklace.

Take this little princess home now, and do remember to keep her clean!

Likes: Cosmetics, diamonds and gems

Hates: fakes, smelly stuff and tomato juice

Meet Alicia, she's made from a synthetic pink sock with heart prints and a woollen sock with a dark pink rim. She feels so soft you know you'd just want to cuddle her if you could...

Likes: Playing with toys, cute stationary and watching cartoons

Hates: Crowds, being handled roughly and eating vegetables

 

This is Murphy... he's a very naughty and playful little feller... he's made with pinstripe yellow sock and a cotton orange sock.. take him home and make sure he keeps out of trouble...

Birthday: 23rd April 2004

Status: Adoptable(3)

Likes: Pulling pranks, swinging from tree to tree, eating junk food

Hates: Being caught, getting a telling off and other unfriendly monkeys

 

These monkeys are limited. I will decide how many of each are adoptable~ averaging from 1 to 10 for each design, the number of adoption allowed for each design will be seen next to the status of each monkey. Each monkey will come with their own Certificate of Adoption.

If your application is successful you will be placed on a Official Parent List.

 

 

However, some rules of adoption apply:

  1. You must have a site to put the sock monkey on and the monkey must be on your site at all times

  2. You must link your Monkey back to my site @ http://home.pacific.net.sg/~pudds/Pudds.htm

  3. You may not change the name of the monkey

  4. Only monkeys with the status "Adoptable" are allowed to be adopted, the number beside it represents how many are still not adopted.

  5. You Must apply in order to adopt a monkey, do not tag me asking for an adoption

  6. To apply I will need the following information~ Your name, URL, the page you are going to place the monkey on as well as the number of the monkey you wish to adopt.

  7. Follow all the rules if you wish to have your application accepted

  8. I will be doing checks after your adoption is sucessful, if the monkey is nowhere to be found you will be removed from the Parent List.

  9. You do not have to display the cert.

  10. All monkeys and their certs will be sent out through email~

 

PS: Sorry about the seriousness about the rules~ these monkeys however virtual, are like funny little living thingys to me and shall not be abused in anyway.
