31^st Dec 05: new year Resolution

Eight months of housemanship came and gone by.

New year resolution is to survive my medical posting in Changi -- and  to wakeboard somemore.

I'm known to my close friends to have "an insatiable appetite for new experiences". It was sometime in mid Nov when Aileen first asked me to try wakeboarding. Having just spent a small fortune on scuba this year, I politely declined. Then she invited me again in end Nov, and the rest is history.

17^th Dec 05: Sleepless post calls

since my call on 8th Dec, each call no longer equals to 12 hrs in bed the following day. Running post-call might get me killed on the road. Therefore gyming post-call is ideal. The worst that could happen is dropping 20kg on my left big toe.

Today is yet another post-call day and I went with some more adrenaline junkies to Punggol. We spent a leisurely 4 hours on the boat and I did my first jump on the wakeboard. Caught some action at Devil's bar later too. The live band was good, the spontaneous bar top dancers better.

And the switch over date has been pushed back to 3rd Jan. That gives me more slack in NUH surgery before the train hits me in CGH medicine. Then I get to meet up with my ex-colleague Saleem, and the ever funny give-them -some-IM-phenergan -so-that-they- would-not-disturb-me Yap.

20^th Nov 05: Charging for plastic

No, I'm not talking about credit cards. Someone wrote a column in today's papers that supermarkets should levy a charge on plastic bags. Great, cos it's time we did more for the environment. I usually don't request for a bag if its 1 or 2 small items I can dump into my bag.

Yesterday I went with some of the adrenaline junkies at work to Punggol for this:

Great fun, all the 1s timers managed to stand. And this is even better (more $$ though) than windsurfing: nearer my place, no need to heed the monsoon winds...

And the day before yesterday, my good friend, Apang, introduced me to New Asia bar at Equinox complex. Less smoky than most bars, so that's a + point. View at the 70th storey is unparalleled & shots are half-priced before 9!

Adios for now. I'm taking leave 1st week of Dec, so will be trying to a new layout then.
