Overview

A non-collectible cardgame based on a comic book barbarian.

Game Description

Players alternate taking turns. Each turn, a player rolls dice, play cards and replenish his hand.

In his turn, the active player rolls the dice and see what are the resources available to him. These resources (money, food, manpower and Groo points - see below) allow cards to be played from a player's hand. Unused resources can be consumed by the other players, starting with the one to the active player's left.

Cards represent different buildings, troops, personalities and Groo Effects.

Building, troop and personality cards played by a player represent those entities present in his town. Troops allow a player to attack or defend against another. Buildings are the key to victory. Some may have special benefits for the owning player, such as the ability to convert resources from one kind to another. Personality cards represent unique individuals at the village, which in general impart special abilities to the player.

In addition to resources, one die is rolled for the random wanderings of Groo, a walking natural disaster. The village Groo is currently visiting is in for big trouble! Groo cards are played much the same way as other cards, but requiring Groo Effect die. These normally result in destruction of troops and buildings of that village in question.

Points are scored for various collecting buildings cards, and the player who first reaches a pre-determined number of points win.

Comments

A simple, fun cardgame that is great as a filler between more complex games.
